Our History

Aqua Glass Corporation

The story of Aqua Glass is one of true American tenacity. From an initial crew of only four employees crafting one or two tubs a day, to a work force of well into the thousands, Aqua Glass has grown to become one of the nation’s leading producers of fine bathing fixtures.

Aqua Glass began in 1969 as a manufacturer of houseboats, but within only a year, expanded to begin manufacturing bathing vessels for the mobile home industry. Rapid success allowed for additional growth and the realization of the American Dream for two young entrepreneurs from the small community of Adamsville, Tennessee. Within two years Aqua Glass further expanded its business to include bath products for the residential market and added the production of acrylic bathing fixtures.

With quality always as its credo and following The Golden Rule when it comes to building relationships with its employees, its sales representatives, its customers and its vendors, Aqua Glass has earned a preeminent reputation as one of the most honorable service-oriented companies in the business.

Aqua Glass has been able to keep pace with its astronomical growth in a variety of ways. Not the least of which is its ability to honor its service guarantee by operating its own trucking company, Tombigbee Transport Corporation. Added to the Aqua Glass Corporation in 1980, Tombigbee Transport Corporation operates its own fleet of air-ride vans and boasts one of the shortest, most consistent delivery times in the industry. As a result, Aqua Glass can act as a rolling warehouse for its customers, cutting down on distributors’ inventory and warehousing costs.

In 1984, Aqua Glass became a subsidiary of Masco Corporation, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of home improvement and building products, as well as a leading provider of services that include the installation of insulation and other building products. For more information on Masco Corporation, please visit their Web site at www.masco.com.

By joining Masco, Aqua Glass thereby maximized its growth potential and greatly enhanced its position in the marketplace. Masco, too, has enjoyed an almost unprecedented growth record of more than thirty consecutive years.

Aqua Glass began distributing its products to consumers on the west coast in 1990 and by 1992 announced plans for a new manufacturing/distribution facility in Klamath Falls, Oregon.

Following hard on the heels of the growth on the west coast, Aqua Glass again broke ground on a new production facility in McEwen, Tennessee. The 100,000 square foot plant is located in the north-central part of the state and opened in mid-1994 to meet increasing demand and plans for future growth.

In the early years, Aqua Glass offered its customers a choice of four bath products but today after phenomenal success, Aqua Glass manufactures and markets thousands of customizable products in a variety of popular colors. Aqua Glass pays special attention to market trends and to their customer feedback to keep their product offering cutting edge. Aqua Glass has sleek sculpted whirlpools; luxurious steam showers, deep, comfortable soaking tubs and trendy, innovative body spray systems for both acrylic and gelcoat showers and tub showers. Additionally Aqua Glass has a complete line of special care products that are designed to meet the physical changing needs of the aging baby boomers without having the look of institutional products. The special care line has style, design and functionality.

After 35 years, Aqua Glass is still one of the largest manufacturers of acrylic and gelcoat fiberglass products in the USA. The company continues to hold the coveted title by maintaining the strong standards of quality it has set upon itself and listening to their customers.

Currently Aqua Glass is headquartered in Adamsville, Tennessee with facilities in Klamath Falls, Oregon and McEwen, Tennessee.
