Frequently Asked Questions

I am required to have the serial number of my bathing fixture in the event of a warranty claim. Where is the serial number on my bathing fixture? If you have an upright shower or tub shower, your serial number will be located in a number of different places on your bathing fixture as well as your Homeowner's Packet. While standing facing the unit a serial number can be found on the top flange of the right rear back corner. Please use caution when accessing this serial number by using a step ladder with rubber feet to prevent slipping. If you have a soaking tub or whirlpool, your serial number will be laser etched into the finish on the front, right lower corner of the bathing fixture.

Where can I get Aqua Scrub/Gloss/Shine? The Aqua Glass cleaners can be purchased through any authorized Aqua Glass wholesaler. The cleaners cannot be purchased directly from Aqua Glass.

How can I remove paint, caulk or other construction material from the gelcoat surface of my new bathing fixture? You may use acetone on a soft cloth or cotton ball these difficult stains, then follow up by cleaning with a non-abrasive cleaner.

What is an Above Floor Rough-in? An above floor rough is the distance from the bottom of the drain to the floor of the installation area on a tub or shower that is a minimum of 2 ½” that allows for the installation of the drain pipe above the floor without having to cut the floor.

Can I replace my towel bar? Yes, but the new bar will need to be installed with grommets to prevent leakage around the bar.

What are grommets? Grommets are protective gaskets that are used to secure the towel bar from moving when installed and to prevent water from escaping around the bar to the back of the unit.

Can I buy a Gelcoat unit with a smooth bottom? Most Aqua Glass gelcoat bathing fixtures come with a textured bottom to help prevent slipping while the bather enters or exits the unit. However, there are a few select products that do not come with the textured bottom and these are the only units available without the textured bottom.

Can I use a rubber mat in my new gelcoat bathing fixture?
You may do so if you remove and completely dry the mat and the gelcoat surface after every use. By using a rubber mat, however, the warranty of the bathing fixture is void.
